Rain,rain go away,
Come again another day,
Little Johnny wants to play,
Rain,rain go away.
I think soon this poem is gonna be reframed for the new syllabi.
Well, I have heard of Al-Qaida,Laskar-E-Toiba etc...before,but never of El-Nino.
After lazily, getting up at 7 today, till the time mom was making coffee,I decided to grab the TOI.
Front page read,"El-Nino could wreck the monsoons".
Silly me,after reading half-way through,I thought ki pata nahi, kaun se naye terrorist ne India par hamla kar diya?.
I guess,by the time my children would learn geography,I would hear of more names like ,"El-Fiza","El-Bahaar","El-Banjar"and so on..
Well, for the layman like me,"El-Nino"refers to a periodic climate phenomenon where water over the pacific ocean heats up beyond the normal. It slows down trade winds blowing blowing over Latin-America towards south-east and south-Asia.
Uh...Geography..(I guess, girls ke sir ke upar se gaya hoga.U know, girls cannot read maps? :P)
It's so hot in M.P. that u just cannot live without Coolers and A.C.'s.
We r desperately waiting for Rain God to shower his blessings on us.
Let's talk of RAINS.
I 've got some really sweet memories associated with it.
I remember as kids,Apurv(my sweet, little, innocent brother)and me wud go to the 5th floor of our bunglow in Khandwa. There,Daddy made a small terrace-cum-shade for us.Our bunglow was newly made then.We wud get "rainy day" holiday from school.Mom and dadiji wud invite their friends for snacks.Mom knew, vella we ,wud trouble her to no limit. So,she wud ask us to go to our private place and study.I distinctly remember, there were two chairs and a study table for us.
We,wud study n relish on garma garam pakora's n herbal tea, prepared from freshly picked Pudina and tulsi.I wud teach my bro maths and if he doesnot get a sum right wud punish him to stand in the rain.Trust me,he did all the sums wrong.:( .Strategy failed.
Then, daddy wud come and ask us to come down and his frenz family and we wud go to Harda and we kids would make paper boats and and kaate vali boat and leave them in water.
We all wud sing,
ROW,ROW,ROW YOUR BOATS GENTLY DOWN THE STREAM,
MERRILY,MERRILY,MERRILY,LIFE IS LIKE A STREAM... :)
Then,we wud enjoy sigri ka sikha hua bhutta(corn) and enjoy rains.Naughty and bindaas me,wud dance on"Shak dum dum "song from Dil toh Paagal hai.I remember till 9th,I danced on this crazy song.
Time changed, so was my perception. Like eveyone, 10th boards, made me enjoy rains with textbook in one hand and coffee mug in another.Whatever, it is. I still enjoy the rains. But,I dance on "Barso re megha"song from GURU now. :).
And now,me and my frenz from Pune,go on a long drive and do rain dance in Hostel's campus.Another way,of enjoyment.Another charm.. :)
I pray to GOD,that once again I wanna dance on rain songs, maybe on a new one now.I don wanna "Banjar hai sab banjar hai "song from Saathiya to be played anywhere in the background.
Let us all pray,
"एक बार माँ वसुंधरा को नव श्रृंगार सजा दो,
करुना निधान भगवान् मेरे भारत को स्वर्ग बना दो।"
If u liked this one,Lemme know.
I am counting on your feedback.
Till the next one, u all do preparations of your's marriage with frog or she-frog.(It's believed that after marrying that creature rain God prassan hote hai and rain karte hai ).
hehe...
Keeping laughing and touch lives...
