POLITICS-NO MORE!
Politics are gaining momentum day by day. All thanks to the media. We have elections in Maharashtra tentatively on 22.09.2009. The leaders have worn their sports shoes and are ready to lure the ‘mango’ people.
Let me share this personal experience with you.
It was 3 p.m. by the clock.I had to go to the ‘Teach India Centre’ now.”Lemme be eco-friendly”, I decided. So, boarded a PMPL bus to the centre. Suddenly, I discovered a man boarding the bus.He wore a gandhi cap and was dressed in dhoti-kurta. He folded his hands and asked all of us one by one to cast our vote for him. When I asked him bravely as to what his qualification is?(Actually, I was inspired by Aamir Khan’s advetistment saying,’Aaj jo khareedega,Kal woh bechega”.)He said that he was 10th pass. To which, a group of school goers in the same bus laughed. I smiled at him nonchalantly.
The next day, I boarded the same bus. This time it was crowded. I saw a man sitting on woman’s seat.I politely showed him the sign that said,”Ladies only”.He asked me to talk to him in Marathi.I am new to the city, I emphasised. He said he was from Shiv sena and would get up only if I talk to him in Marathi. What do you call this?Dadagiri or Politics?
I was browsing through the newspapres the other day. It had portfolio’s of the canditates for the upcoming elections. My jaws dropped down, when I saw their income column.Equally surprised, with their qualification’s module.I wondered how cool it would have been if my father was a politician too?I would haven’t done my engineering and would have earned in lakh’s per month.Well, it’s just a dream.Politics is surely the highest paid job in India. You just need to have big names for the back up, That’s it.Easy entry indeed.
I wonder the politicians sitting ideally on their comfortable chairs in their A.C. rooms want to criticise the opposite party on flimsy gropunds. We criticise the opponent on writing his mind in his book, for having lunch in a 5 star hotel, for not paying telephone bills etc. We criticise…We never look for the solutions. We play politics. That’s it.
It’s high time we change our outlook.Let’s all concentrate on our common goal of making India go global. Let us all work for it’s progress. We cannot achieve anything by pulling legs of our own people.Think big, Think Smart. Let’s all be united and work together.Together we stand, we grow, individually, we are NOTHING.
Let me end on this note,
‘No’ uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a ‘Yes’ merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble.’
-Mahatma Gandhi.
